Encouragement: God's Comfort Through Glory
On Tuesday, Giovanni accused me of acting like his l’inamorata (his emotional lover). I had sent him a text saying “Il mio cuore tiene il tuo cuore/My heart holds your heart.” He had told me that he was sad because his dad is in the hospital. So, I sent him a personification because we live over 6,000 miles apart. I cannot hug him, but I need to make it as concrete as possible. Instead, he threatened to leave me, and I was devastated. God comforted me like He always does in my time of need (2 Corinthians 1:4).
Yesterday, the Bible verse of the day came from Romans 8. As I read the chapter through my tears, I came to one of my favorite verses – 28, but as I continued to read to verse 30, I realized something that I had never seen before.
When I was in despair, God promised to glorify me if I continue do His will, and that was the greatest comfort I needed.
