Hate: Don't Pass It On
My caregiver is quitting on September 1 because her mom does not feel like babysitting her 5 year old son anymore, not because she is busy or anything. My family says the same thing. They say that they have freedom to do whatever they want. While God has given us free will, I learned that hate is intentionally leaving people helpless when we can help.
In Romans 6:12-16, God says that just because He freed us from the law does not mean that we should sin. Sin is breaking the law (Romans 7:5). The law is love (Matthew 22:39). Our freedom was not given to us to refuse to love.
Amadae argues that the notion of freedom to do whatever we want comes the Cold War justification that democracy is based on individual decisions to do what is best for ourselves. However, the Bible says that we should give, not worry about ourselves because God wants to give us His kingdom (Luke 12:29-33).
Hate is intentionally not helping someone because a person does not feel like helping, bu wants to do what s/he wants to do.
