Uncovering the Truth: Expections and Hope Are Not a Sin
People criticize me because they say that I “expect” people to help me, and that is not incorrect. I expect people to help me in that I hope that they will help me and do good. According to a Catholicsingles.com article I just got in my email "5 Truths about Hope from the Saints," hope produces love and is a fruit of the spirit or virtue.
The Saints say that hope comes when we know how much God loves us and wants to bless us. This knowledge gives us strength to continue to love like God and do good to others as an act of obedience to God to show that we are His children and followers.
No matter how impossible and illogical our circumstances are, we can guarantee that God has something good for us (Jeremiah 29:11). God is not logical because His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9).
